What do I get when I pay for a course?
All Investopedia Academy courses are purchased with a one-time fee—no subscriptions, no additional fees. Once you buy the course, you have lifetime access that does not expire.
How do I pay for a course?
We accept all major credit and debit cards, and PayPal.
Will you provide a refund if I am not satisfied with the course?
Yes, we are more than happy to provide any customer a refund if they are not satisfied with the material or presentation. The conditions are simple:
- you must make your refund request within 30 days of purchasing and
- you must have completed less than 50% of the course. With both conditions met, we will be happy to process your refund request.
Do you offer any discounts on your courses?
Yes, we offer adjusted pricing for certain courses for students and active military/military veterans. Learn more and apply here. If you’re eligible, we will happily provide you with a discount.
Why was my order canceled?
If your order was canceled, you are most likely in a location where Investopedia Academy can't sell, yet. If you checked out, any charges authorized on your account will fall off within a couple of business days.
How can I access my course?
To access your course, sign in on the Academy Homepage. Please follow the below instructions:
- Go to academy.investopedia.com
- Hover over 'Account', and click 'Sign In to Access' courses
- Login with the email address you used to register for the course, and your password
- Once logged in, you should go back to 'Account', and click ‘My Courses Dashboard’. There you will be able to see your courses.
How can I set or change my password?
If you have not yet set your password or would like to change it, you can here.
How can I change my email address on my account?
To change the email address on your account, go to Investopedia.com and login. In settings, change the email address associated with your account to the one you want. After you've done that, email firstname.lastname@example.org and include the new and the old email addresses. Please allow up to 24 hours for your courses to be switched to the new email address.
Are there any deadlines or time restrictions for the course?
Our courses are designed for you to take and complete at your own pace. There are no deadlines or time restrictions, and you have the ability to jump around to whichever sections and lessons you want. Your access to an Investopedia Academy course will not expire.
Can I only access the course at certain times?
Once purchased, the courses can be accessed online, on-demand, at any time of day or night.
Are they live lessons?
Investopedia Academy’s lessons are not live: they’re comprised of pre-recorded video instruction (in addition to downloadable materials and templates). You will have the ability to "rewind" as needed and watch lessons at a time and place that’s most convenient for you.
What sort of learning materials are in Investopedia Academy’s courses?
Investopedia Academy courses offer video lessons presented by selected and qualified professionals in each specific field (e.g., our Become a Day Trader course is taught by a former Wall Street broker with 25+ years of experience). In addition to the video lessons, courses offer interactive and downloadable materials to both aid in your understanding of the course content and use "on the job."
Are courses available offline?
The video lessons cannot be downloaded for offline access. You will need a reliable internet connection and the videos will optimize based on the strength of your signal. The resources and extra content can be downloaded and accessed offline.
How long will the courses take?
Each course varies in completion time. Please see specific detail pages for each course to learn more. You may take as long as you want to complete each course and there are no deadlines.
What if I experience any technical difficulties with the course or have further questions?
If you are having any issues with anything involving Investopedia Academy, just email email@example.com and we will get back to you within 1-2 business days to address your questions or concerns.
I just bought a course. Why don’t I see the course in my Dashboard?
Sometimes with heavy traffic, there can be a 5-10 minute delay for your course to appear in your Courses Dashboard after purchase. Please refresh the page after a few minutes and your course will be there.
Why can I not get a SCORM or Tin Can file to load or recognize completion?
If you're having trouble, please make sure you have Flash enabled in your browser. Chrome is the recommended browser to access our files, so switching to Chrome or to a newer browser should help course content to load quickly.
The videos will not play; what can I do?
Please make sure you’re connected to the Internet and logged in to your account. Remove any ad blockers that can interfere with course resources. A work Internet connection may at times block or interfere with the video content.
